Job Description The faculty member will provide student instruction in areas of education and experience for the Physician Assistant Program. Faculty members act as an advocate for the program and represent the program at state, national, and regional meetings. All clinical faculty members have the option to maintain clinical practice one day per week. Position summary: ? Provide student instruction in areas of education and experience. This position requires the individual to possess the knowledge and clinical skills needed to conduct the curriculum of the PA Program. This includes but is not limited to the following: o Design curriculum o Evaluate student performance o Coordinating curriculum o Course instruction o Evaluate curriculum o Identify students who are not achieving course and program objectives o Assist in reviewing and developing the program mission statement annually o Assure the availability of remedial instruction o Maintain knowledge and skills associated with current practice standards Responsibilities : Teaching 1. Develop, analyze, assess, and evaluate didactic/ clinical course objectives, learning outcomes, content, syllabi, course, and sequence of material across the curriculum 2. Create, edit, review, analyze assessment tools and student performance 3. Provide feedback to students regarding assessment performance and devise remediation plans when needed 4. Submit grades timely and as required 5. Mentor other faculty members Service 1. Attend meeting as required 2. Chair committees as assigned 3. Assist with new student orientation 4. Serve on PA search committee as assigned 5. Attend state meetings yearly and PAEA or AAPA every year 6. ARC -PA assignments to provide ongoing assessment of program 7. Serve on campus wide committees as assigned 8. Attend CME meetings as required 9. Adhere to policies and procedures of the University, School of Medicine, and PA program Program ? Meet with prospective students ? Promote and sustain a graduate level of academic culture ? Participate in and contribute to program duties as assigned ? Provide advising to physician assistant students ? Attend all program events (white coat ceremony, graduation etc.) ? Participate in interviewing applicants as assigned for admission to the Marshall University PA program ? Participate in program committees as assigned. ? Assist in developing, reviewing and revising as necessary the mission statement for the program ? Post regular office hours devoted to the program ? Participate through the Self-Assessment Committee in administering and evaluating the Program ? Other duties as assigned
