Job Description:
Job Description The Assistant Director – Graduate Programs will
be responsible for: · Coordinate daily functions of the Brad D.
Smith Graduate School of Business · Works with students,
departments, and faculty to assess enrolment capacity and strategic
enrollment management. Develop fall/spring/summer graduate
schedules in coordination with Department Chairs to assure we meet
the needs of students · Advise and register students in DBA , DNAP
, MBA (online and on campus), EMBA IMBA , PharmDMBA, MS in HRM , MS
in HCA , MS in ACC , MS in IS, MS in HI, MS Sports Management,
Graduate Certificate programs, or any other graduate programs ·
Create and monitor Plans of Studies for all graduate students. Meet
with students to advise them on graduation requirements,
preparation of semester schedules, needs for specific courses to
satisfy degree requirements, etc. for all graduate majors in the
LCOB · Monitor student enrollment and provide updates to the Dean’s
Office. Consult with Associate Dean on issues regarding progression
· Utilize Banner, BERT , DegreeWorks. Navigate any additional
software needed · Place academic holds on students as needed
(Probation, dismissal, etc.) · Put together and verify the College
of Business Graduate Programs graduation list each term. Work with
the Registrar’s Office to verify and address issues as they arise ·
Review applications and make recommendations for admission. · Serve
on all graduate Admission Committees · Assist in the recruitment
and retention of students for the graduate business programs. This
includes, but is not limited to Career Fairs, classroom visits, off
campus recruiting events at other Universities, and other student
engagement activities · Develop and update graduate programs
recruiting materials such as brochures, flyers, LCOB graduate
programs website, etc. · Organize and manage Graduate Assistants at
both campuses and coordinate the specific needs of graduate
assistants in each department with the department chair needs ·
Meet with international students about OPT and CPT and assist in
completing their paperwork · Review and update graduate students
records including grades, grade changes, transfer of credits and
course substitution forms. Review students records at the end of
the semester and notify students on academic probation about their
status and how to return to good standing. Consult with Associate
Dean about students who need to be dismissed. Also, put together
improvement plans and consult with students on what is needed to
return to good standing · Plan and organize COB Graduation
Ceremonies, LCOB Graduate Student Welcome Reception, Information
Sessions, or other functions as needed · Attend LCOB Graduate
Curriculum Committee meetings. Facilitate paperwork on any
curriculum or non-curricular changes in line with Graduate
Council’s regulations and timelines. Also, attend University
Graduate Council meetings as necessary when there are questions
about changes put forth by the Graduate Committee · Review and make
sure Graduate Catalog is up to date with the most recent policies,
procedures and information · Assist in development of new graduate
programs. Serve as advisor from the LCOB side of the PharmD/ MBA
and other joint programs to assure students meet requirements for
admission and completion of programs · Check to make sure all
grades are entered by faculty at the end of the semester. If
needed, contact them to have grades send to them or Registrar’s
Office for timely entry · Develop and help write 32 articulation
and other agreements with other Universities. Also, do campus
visits to meet faculty, administrators and prospective students
about Marshall’s 32 articulation agreements · Develop and analyze
survey’s given to upcoming graduates to get feedback about
programs, as well as current and future employment · Maintain
graduate student databases, including newly admitted student’s
information and alumni databases · Complete survey’s for U.S. News
Report, Princeton Review and other outside agencies for graduate
program rankings and recognitions · Assist the Dean’s Office with
accreditation by providing student data for the accreditation
report, attend necessary accreditation meetings and participate in
accreditation reviews as needed
