Job Description
SUMMARY
The Inspection Manager is responsible for the day to day functions
of the NDT and QVA groups. The Inspection Manager coordinates,
manages and assists with any plant quality issues as they pertain
to products and quality requirements. The Inspection Manager also
works with operations to improve material quality to a consistent
high level.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Manages the day to day functions of the NDT and QVA groups.
* Work to improve yield, scrap, first time pass and material
costs.
* With assistance from Level III, writes/executes inspection
protocols.
* Oversees the inspection of materials produced by the Company.
* Oversees the process of accepting or rejecting products and
discusses inspection results with the production team.
* Reviews and/or removes products that don't meet production
standards and recommends strategies to improve product quality.
* Participate in supplier and internal quality system audits.
* Review and monitor supplier interface from receipt of material
through rejection notification and corrective action when
necessary.
* Promote quality consciousness, motivating personnel to perform
and produce to the best of their ability with regard to quality and
productivity.
* Help to develop inspection procedures, plans, guidelines and
records for all work areas to ensure the control of product quality
is maintained.
* Assess the need for new gages; arranging for their purchase or
creation and assuring their accuracy by directing inspection,
calibration and use.
* Keep the Senior QC Manager apprised of all issues involving
quality.
* Assist in analysis of material problems, investigate any issues
and follow up, conduct any reliability testing necessary.ADDITIONAL

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* 4-year degree in related field. Four years of experience in
engineering and/or quality in a manufacturing environment is
required.
* 5-7 years of metals industry experience required.SPECIAL
