with Mindlance Health to find a qualified DOU RN in Parkersburg,
West Virginia, 26101! ID: 74984969 Shift: 12H Nights Epic

LICENSE* Unit2N - Medsurg and cardiac Observation (Cost center 32)
Beds21-Beds - Usually staff for 18RatiosAverage ratios 1:6Required
CertificationsBLS & ACLS are both requiredCommon diagnosis / Types
of patientsPre/post Cath, CP rule-outs on heparin drips, COPD, CHF,
pacers, arrhythmias, as well as any MedSurg dxExperience or 'Must
have' skills"RN's must be able to read strips & have experience
with set-rate Cardizem & Amiodarone. Experience with TR Bands would
be a huge plus! PLEASE NOTE ON PRESCREEN IF CANDIDATE HAS THIS
EXPERIENCE OR NOT"Are RN's required to titrate drips No Common
titratable &/or set rate dripsOnly set-rate Cardizem &
Amiodarone. Other occasional drips include Bumex & Lasix.
Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Do RN's read strips?Tele monitor
techs on the 3rd floor; however, the RN's must be able to read &
interpret strips. They also have a monitor on this unit for real
time viewing.Charge Nurse/House SupervisorCharge Nurse on the unit
24/7. Day Charge sometimes takes patients; Night Charge always take
patientsAre there Nurse Aides on this unit/Ratios1:10 but sometimes
1:14-15 depending on census & staffing. DUTIES: EKGs, bladder
scans, FSBS, ADLs, all vitals RT/Equipment (i.e. Cpap, Bipap, High
Flow) No High Flow. Only Bipap & Cpap - for supportive therapy
only. If patient was dependent on Bipap or Cpap they would probably
be transferred to a higher acuity unit Shifts & Scheduling"Shifts
are all 12's (7a-7p; 7p-7a) Clock in no sooner than 0653 or 1853.
NOTE: ALL TIME OFF REQUESTS MUST BE UP FRONT & IN THE CONTRACT.
REQUESTS FOR TIME OFF AFTER THIS MUST BE APPROVED BY THE FACILITY.
(Manager may consider occasional requests for a day off but would
be based on the needs of the unit)PLEASE ASK FOR TIME-OFF DURING
PRESCREEN & INCLUDE IN PRESCREEN NOTES"Weekend
Requirement"Every-other- weekend for travelers (Perm staff does
every 3rd weekend) -Weekend shifts for Nights are Fri/Sat/Sun; Days
are Sat/Sun "Holiday RequirementPerm staff have a Holiday rotation
schedule. If they can get by without travelers working weekends
they will; however, if the needs of the unit require travelers to
work weekends, this would be the expectation. Call or Standby
Requirement"Call or Standby could happen if census was low, but not
often. This would be something that would be in the contract If
traveler has further questions direct them to speak with their
recruiter"Floating Requirements Travelers are typically the 1st to
float. They could be floated anywhere in the hospital, including
ICU & Stepdown; however, they would only be given patients within
their skillset. Scrub Color/Dress CodeRoyal Blue - Scrub jackets
are not required; however, if they wear a jacket it must be an
actual scrub jacket. No hoodies or sweat-jackets. Unit/Department
Specific Orientation1 day of Computer training, followed by 1 day
on the floor shadowing with a preceptor. After that they are on
their own for the 3rd day Additional NotesThis unit is very busy &
fast paced. Can DC up to 6 patients/day & 6 admits Cancellation may
cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment and 1 shift for assignments
less than 13 weeks Charting BSN License to , willing to wait Trauma
Level: Care Shift Experience, weekends as needed Required (AHA),
BLS (AHA) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Contract Weeks:91 5
