Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Telemetry Location: Parkersburg, WV Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,380 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Telemetry Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Med/Surg background; Step-down experience preferred Description: All submissions must include a driver's license with a current permanent address. The float pool includes all inpatient units based on competency, including ICU, Step-down, and medical/surgical. Ratios depend on the unit. For med/surg, the ratio is 1:6. For step-down, the ratio is 1:4 or 1:5. For ICU, the ratio is 1:2 or 1:3. RNs are required to titrate drips in the Step-down areas only. Common titratable and/or set rate drips include Heparin, Cardizem, Nitro, Cardene, Insulin, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Activase, Esmolol, Lidocaine, Labetalol, Primacor, Procainamide, and Verapamil. There is a charge nurse/house supervisor available. House supervisors are present 24/7. Nurse aides are available on this unit. Ratios for aides are maintained. Respiratory equipment such as Cpap and BiPap can be utilized on all units. Ventilators are available in the ICU. Chronic trach vents can be admitted to step-down. Telemetry monitoring is done on this unit. We have monitor techs, and RNs read strips. Shifts and scheduling include 3 for 7 am to 7:30 pm and 3 for 7 pm to 7:30 am. There is a weekend requirement every other weekend. Holiday coverage is required if needed. There is no call requirement, but standby may be necessary if census is down. Units are assigned through a staffing office call for daily assignments. The scrub color/dress code is royal blue. There is a cancellation policy in place. The charting system used is EPIC. A BSN is not required. Trauma level and care setting are acute. The division is nursing. Shift notes indicate 12-hour nights with weekends scheduled as needed.
