Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/02/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Stepdown Job Details: • 13-week assignment with 3x12 night shifts • Work on 5 North/Step-down, a 20-bed unit with all private rooms • Patient ratios typically 4:1, may go up to 5:1 depending on staffing • Care for a mixture of pulmonary, cardiac, neuro, GI, and surgery patients who are stable but at higher risk of becoming unstable • Unit accepts combination of adult med-surg, telemetry, and step-down patients based on bed availability • Administer critical drips including Amiodarone, Esmolol, Insulin, Lasix, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin • Work with specialized equipment including Nihon Kohden monitoring system, BiPAP/CPap/Optiflow/Home Vent • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required • 20 hours of orientation provided • Weekend coverage required • One pre-approved time off allowed • Must complete lab work within 72 hours of signing contract • Complete non-billable modules during orientation (average 4-6 hours) • Local candidates within 50 miles not accepted Facility: This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive 20-bed step-down unit providing specialized care for patients requiring close monitoring.
