Job Description:
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is seeking a qualified
Clinical Psychologist to join our dedicated team, providing vital
mental health services within the federal prison system. This role
involves assessing and treating inmates with a diverse range of
psychological issues, developing mental health programs, and
contributing to rehabilitation and treatment plans. Working within
BOP offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on
national security and public safety while operating in a
challenging yet rewarding environment. Conduct psychological
assessments and evaluations of inmates to diagnose mental health
conditions. Develop and implement treatment plans appropriate to
the clinical findings and specific needs of the inmates. Provide
crisis intervention and conduct risk assessments to manage and
mitigate potential harm to self or others. Collaborate with
psychiatrists, medical staff, and correctional officers to
integrate and coordinate care. Lead group therapy sessions and
provide individual counseling. Contribute to the training of staff
on mental health issues and the management of mental health crises.
Prepare comprehensive reports and maintain accurate records of
inmates' progress and treatment. Engage in research activities
aimed at the improvement of clinical practices and outcomes within
the correctional setting. Expertise in psychological testing and
clinical assessment. Strong skills in crisis intervention and
behavioral management. Ability to work effectively within a
multidisciplinary team. Experience in designing and implementing
therapy programs. Excellent verbal and written communication
skills. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life
Insurance 401k Valid state licensure as a Clinical Psychologist.
Board Certified in Clinical Psychology is preferable. CPR
certification and any other certifications related to health care
crisis management.
