Hospital-based Cancer Center Position Type: Locum Tenens Physician
(Travel/Contract) Start Date: May 1, 2026 End Date: July 31, 2026
Contract Length: 3 months (potential extension) Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (8-hour day shifts) Shifts: 5
shifts per week; 90 shifts total during the contract period Call
Coverage: Inpatient call every 3rd week Availability: Minimum 3
weeks per month required Patient Volume: Approximately 15 adult
patients per day Support Team: Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants
(CMAs), Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) EMR System: Cerner
Procedures: Bone marrow biopsies and related oncology procedures
Estimated Weekly Pay: $15,160 - $16,250 Hematology/Oncology
Physician Qualifications Board Certification in Hematology/Oncology
(required for all oncology jobs) Completion of Oncology Fellowship
(required) Active West Virginia medical license or eligibility for
temporary license (clean background required) DEA certification
(required for physician jobs) BLS and ACLS certifications
(required) Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience in
Hematology/Oncology No malpractice or disciplinary history Key
Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive outpatient and inpatient
care to adult hematology and oncology patients Perform bone marrow
biopsies and other hematology/oncology procedures Participate in
inpatient call rotation (1 in 3 weeks) Collaborate with a
multidisciplinary healthcare team (nurses, CMAs, APPs) Utilize
Cerner EMR for accurate documentation and patient management
Provide compassionate, evidence-based care in a community-focused
