The cancer program is growing and developing because it is merging the two hospitals in Huntington. The program offers NCI-sponsored protocols as well as some industry-supported trials. We are planning to update our gynecologic oncology brachytherapy equipment and starting a radioisotope program shortly. There are multidisciplinary tumor boards in gastroenterology, sarcoma, breast cancer, lung cancer and gynecologic oncology. The BrainLab program is used for stereotactic treatment to the brain and spine, and the Varian TrueBeamis used for our other stereotactic treatments. There is an active high-dose-rate brachytherapy program. Community Info: The town of Huntington, West Virginia contains the Medical Center and its associated hospitals as well as the main University.
