Speech Language Pathologist Location: Gallipolis, OH Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $256 per week Shift Information: Days - 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Speech and Language Pathologist Profession: Speech and Language Pathologist Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: Minimum Years of Experience required License: Required Certifications: Required Must-Have: No weekends or holidays Description: Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine individuals' levels of receptive and expressive speech and language skills. Assess swallowing skills and social/pragmatic skills. Develop, modify, and implement individual and group therapy/treatment programs to enhance communication and address swallowing deficiencies. Recommend changes in food texture and liquid consistency during meals and snacks. Confer with medical staff regarding medications to improve swallowing. Participate in and suggest participation in barium swallowing studies and follow-up evaluations. Design and personally deliver speech, language, and dysphagia management services, including hearing screenings. Provide training and support for individuals using hearing aids. Facilitate beginning reading and word recognition programs, articulation training, and functional social communication skills. Demonstrate language techniques and use of augmentative communication devices. Design and deliver in-service training to other staff on speech-language techniques and protocols. Act as a sign language interpreter as necessary. Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide professional insight and goal planning for treatment and care. Attend meetings, workshops, and seminars to improve and maximize professional skills and knowledge. Counsel and inform family members regarding speech-language, hearing, and swallowing issues. Compose and complete reports, lesson plans, and other program-related documents necessary to track progress of treatment and therapy programs. Operate personal computers using office systems software and specialized communication software to create, edit, and store records. Develop augmentative communication devices such as signs, photos, picture boards, and communication wallets. Maintain electronic augmentative communication devices and hearing aids.
