Job Details – Travel Nursing Assignment - Estimated Weekly Salary: $1730-$1820/week - Location: Huntington, WV 25701 (Huntington, West Virginia) - Setting: Short Term Acute Care – Major Teaching Hospital, Level II Trauma Center - Unit: Medical Surgical Float – 2 North East/West Float Post Surgical - Assignment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel Assignment - Start Date: March 23, 2026 - End Date: June 22, 2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - Shift: Night Shift – 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00) - Hours per Week: 36 - Orientation: 16 hours - Charting / EMR: Cerner (Cerner EMR) - Scrub Color: Black scrubs or facility T-shirt; surgery scrubs provided when needed - Parking: Free parking available for travelers Job Requirements – Med/Surg RN / Travel Nurse Qualifications - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or a Multi-State Compact RN license - BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required - Minimum 1 year of recent medical-surgical (Med/Surg) RN experience - Experience with post-surgical patient care, medical-surgical nursing, and float RN assignments preferred - First-time travel nurses are welcome - Ability to float between units as needed and adapt in a fast-paced acute care environment - Must complete required lab work within 72 hours of contract signing - Completion of facility modules during orientation and annually - Local candidates (within 50 miles) are not eligible for this travel assignment Responsibilities – Clinical & Patient Care - Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to post-surgical and medical patients as a float RN - Use Cerner EMR to monitor, assess, and document patient conditions accurately - Administer medications, IV therapies, treatments, and procedures as prescribed - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and ancillary staff, to ensure optimal patient outcomes - Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and post-operative care - Maintain a safe, clean work environment; follow hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety protocols - Adapt quickly to changing patient acuity and unit assignments during night shift nursing Experience the rewarding culture of a traveler-friendly hospital in a beautiful West Virginia community.
