with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Ortho RN in
Parkersburg, West Virginia, 26101! Job Title: Registered Nurse
Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty:
Orthopedic-Neurological Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights
Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License:
Required Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Experience with
orthopedic patients and PCA pumps Description: Unit has 33 beds
with all private rooms. Staffing ratio is 1 to 6. Common diagnoses
include elective surgeries such as hips, knees, and shoulders, as
well as fractures from falls and neuro-surgeries. General
Medical-Surgical experience is required. RNs do not need to titrate
drips. IV fluids and PCA pumps are managed. Charge Nurse available
24/7. Night charge will take a full patient assignment. Patient
Care Techs (PCTs) assist with vital signs, blood sugar monitoring,
ADLs, and can discontinue Foley catheters. Respiratory Therapy
equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow; managed per
Respiratory Therapy guidelines. Remote telemetry is utilized and
monitored by a third floor team. RNs are not required to read
telemetry strips. Shifts are from 0700-1930 and 1900-0730 with a
30-minute lunch break. Staff self-schedule. Traveling staff will be
scheduled based on unit needs. Block scheduling is allowed as long
as unit needs are met. Every other weekend shift requirement is
expected. Holidays will depend on the unit's staffing needs.
Traveling staff may be required to cover holidays if needed. There
is a possibility of being called off for low census based on
contract terms. Traveling staff are the first to float and may be
assigned to any Medical-Surgical unit. Dress code requires royal
blue scrubs. Scrub jackets must match the required color but
hoodies and sweat-jackets are not permitted. A one-day orientation
is provided for electronic charting system training. Traveling
staff will spend one additional day on the floor with a preceptor
