Job Description Lexington Health is seeking a Board Certified or
Board Eligible OB/GYN physician to join our expanding OB/GYN
Hospitalist team. This hybrid role focuses on providing in-house,
after-hours obstetric and gynecologic inpatient care, supporting
both assigned and unassigned patients, and responding to
emergencies. The hospitalist collaborates closely with our employed
and community-based OB/GYNs to ensure consistent, high-quality care
across the service line. Our network of care consists of 36
OB/GYNs, 9 GYN-only physicians, 2 Family Medicine OB physicians,
and 16 Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants. We deliver
approximately 4,000 babies per year, with continued growth expected
as South Carolina remains one of the fastest-growing states in the
country. The Hospitalist will strengthen overnight safety, supports
resident education, and ensures a skilled OB/GYN physician is
present on-site during critical hours. Subspecialty services are
available to us within our hospital system in MFM, gynecologic
oncology, and urogynecology. As part of our health care system,
consultations are also readily available from other specialties
such as general surgery, urology, interventional radiology, etc. A
full-time OB/GYN Hospitalist will work a set number of annual
shifts, determined by organizational need, scheduling requirements,
and provider availability. Shifts are primarily overnight during
the week, with full weekend coverage. Daytime call coverage is
provided by our community-based OB/GYN physicians, allowing the
hospitalist to focus exclusively on inpatient care. This role does
not include office responsibilities or scheduled daytime GYN
surgeries. Responsibilities: Provide in-house coverage
Monday-Friday (7 PM – 7 AM) and 48-hour weekend shifts on a
rotating basis Serve as the attending physician for unassigned OB
patients, including emergency deliveries and obstetrical triage
assessments Respond to obstetric emergencies Evaluate and manage
unassigned gynecologic patients presenting through the Emergency
Department Collaborate with nursing staff, anesthesia, and on-call
physicians to ensure coordinated and safe patient care Perform
procedures as needed, including cesarean deliveries and gynecologic
emergency interventions Document and communicate hand-offs
effectively in EPIC for continuity of care Qualifications: Board
Eligible/Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology South Carolina
