We are currently hiring for our next QA Lab Lead Technician inBreinigsville, PA.

The Quality Lab Lead Technician is responsible for assisting with all Brewing QA and Micro activities and safety programs with day-to-day leadership.
This position will focus on Lab improvement ventures while also providing support and validation to both Brew Lab and Micro Technicians.
Problem-solving initiatives and Continuous improvement will be a key factors in the success of this role while also helping with coverage regularly in both Labs.

What You'll Do:

  • Attend meetings and Facilitate RCAs with Brewing and Packaging as needed
  • Review all Brewing QA SOPs every year and update when valid. Communicate changes via OPLs
  • Create SOPs for all new processes/analysis and work with the Training Department for improvements
  • Observe and practice all Brewery Safety Procedures. This includes wearing the proper PPE always in areas where required
  • Audit and Validate Technicians on adherence to SOPs. Keep an updated Capability record showing strengths and further training opportunities
  • Support both Brewing QA and Micro in day-to-day activities as needed to cover absences. This role will include some shift work to support Night Shift Technicians
  • Participate in Sensory panels
  • Perform instrument operation and maintenance using such equipment as Gas Chromatograph, Beer Alcolyzer, pH Meter, Spectrophotometer, Haze Meter, Tannin Meter, HPLC, AA
  • Determine if product meets specification to release or hold. Notify Asst. Manager regarding process deviations and/or when production is outside of control parameters
  • Communicate effectively with various team members about issues following and enforcing all relevant Safety and Quality procedures
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects. Makes recommendations for process improvements.
  • Accurately conduct and document daily and monthly audits and processes regarding GMP's and HACCP plans. Enforce and follow all brewery and food safety standards.

What We're Looking For:

  • Advanced knowledge of chemistry, biology, or related subject
  • 2+years general work experience in a production facility or Lab Environment
  • Proven mechanical aptitude, demonstrated by work, avocation, or vocation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GMP thru work experience
  • Must be proficient with computers and automated equipment to input and understand data as required. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and QI AnalystKnowledge of basic laboratory and production safety practices and procedures.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed workforce successfully
  • Proven Continuous Improvement skills
