Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a IS Service
Director PSJH to our location in Seattle, WA or Spokane,
The IS Service Director (SD) is an executive-level, strategic
business leader who partners with ministry / campus clinical
business executives and leaders on both business strategy and
business value results. The SD serves as an advocate for both IS
and the clinical business as a member of leadership teams. The SD
is a trusted advisor actively partnering and consulting with
business peers to determine strategic direction and how it
converges with IS strategic direction and capabilities. The SD
ensures the potential business value from those capabilities are
captured and recognized.
In this position you will have the following
- Strategy Development and Alignment: Identify
business function opportunities and the best-suited position for
the function's adoption within the business partner organization.
Measure adoption and work with business leadership to develop
future roadmap and opportunities.
- IS Operational Excellence and Service
Delivery: Partners with business transformation teams to
ensure successful initiatives. Ensure project and initiative
progress, including consistent and effective communication.
- Leadership: Provides ministry specific
guidance for exceptional IS service delivery, which is aligned to
ministry strategy, goals and operational needs. Leads IS ministry
communications as liaison for IS during service outages. Serves as
a role model for values and mission of IS and Providence
- Communications: The SD provides bidirectional
communication of IS initiatives and major incidents to
ministry/service area executive leadership. The SD facilitates,
influences, and communicates how technology strategies/services are
planned and executed.
- Customer Experience and Satisfaction: The SD
guides, supports, and advocates for IS efforts to Simplify,
Modernize, and Innovate to achieve excellent customer experience.
Provides customer experience related feedback to IS leadership
responsible for success of those initiatives. The SD shares
valuable insights and customer satisfaction data with leaders to
help guide/support exceptional customer experience between IS and
the clinical business.
- Collaboration & Coordination: Ensure that
project/program managers are knowledgeable about the business
partner and their objectives. Engage as a project/program
stakeholder, including evaluating project efforts and progress
against business and IS strategic plans and objectives.
- Demand Management: The SD acts as the
strategic interface between IS and the clinical business partner to
surface, and shape business demand. Ensure that the potential
business value is measurable, realized, optimized, and recognized.
Validate (confirm) IS services and requirements are adequately and
accurately represented in all new requests.
Required qualifications for this position
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Management,
Information Services or related field or equivalent
- 10 years Service Delivery Leadership experience in healthcare
and/or IT setting; Demonstrated ability to create and successfully
execute Service Delivery plans for highly complex services;
healthcare information services operations and support; experience
standardizing complex and disparate technologies, workflows and
processes; release management expertise related to application
rationalization, deployment, and support; experience in process
improvement methodology, change management, and operational
- 8 years leadership in healthcare and/or information services
operations and support.
- 5 years experience leading service reviews with senior
executives, reporting complex service development information and
setting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for a complex eccosystem
Preferred qualifications for this position
- Master's Degree in IS, Business, Healthcare Administration, or
a related field or equivalent education/experience.
