• NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) (Nursys verification required as applicable)

  • 5 North/Step-down is a 20-bed (all private room) unit. We strive for a 4:1 ratio but can have a 5:1 ratio, depending on our staffing situation. We have a mixture of pulmonary (pneumonia, COPD, BiPAP/cpap, etc.), cardiac (a-fib, heart failure, etc.), neuro (stroke), GI (bleed), and surgery patients who are stable with a higher risk of becoming unstable. Our unit is equipped to house 20 stepdown patients at one time, however, all patients do not have to be step-down in order to be on our unit. We accept patients who do not require invasive monitoring. There may be a combination of adult med-surg, telemetry, and step-down patients at any given time, based upon bed availability house wide. Examples of critical drips we can administer to our step-down patients: Amiodarone, Esmolol, Insulin, Lasix, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin.

      • Government issued photo ID required. Photo Identification must be carried on person during hours of service to client.
      • Please require if nurse is working on a compact license.
      • Facility will assign modules to HealthStream accounts prior to start. Candidate will use the login information they receive in their onboarding email from the facility. Modules may pend at start but they must be complete within a week of start. Facility will monitor the progress of the modules.
      • Orientation and Annual Education - Must review prior to start and complete the Attestation form under Facility Specifics.
      • All candidates must complete this form before start.
      • Candidate must submit if they are seeking a medical exemption. Exemptions must be approved by facility prior to start.
      • N95 fit test will be completed onsite at orientation. Please make sure male candidates are aware they MUST be clean shaven for the respiratory fit test.
      • Candidate will need to create an account prior to start in order to clock in at Cabell.
